Primeval Pets is great! Everyone there is friendly & knowledgeable. They have tons of feeder options. They also have lots of animals for sale that are always so fun to look at, I'll spend over a half hour interacting with the turtles and geckos sometimes. If you're looking for tanks, hides, bedding, decor, lighting, etc...they have plenty to offer in that department too! Edited: They also will do free health check ups for animals you purchase there which is a huge plus, Konrad has helped me so much with my snakes and they are very healthy and happy boys even years later. Thank you Primeval, you rock!

Rob helped us and took the time to answer all of our questions, the staff was very knowledgeable and all the reptiles appeared to be well taken care of. Our kids loved being able to walk through the store to look at the wide variety and even get a little hands on time with a few reptiles! This is a great locally owned business and deserves more customers!

This review is way over due, I rescued 3 leopard geckos and a ball python that were abandoned inside an RV. They were in need of special care so I took them in to primeval pets. They took all the animals and raised them back to health and hooked me up with all the things I need to keep one of the leopard geckos who I named brain. The others were raised back to full health and got good homes. Thanks so much the everyone there.. highest recommend these guys

What can I say. Conrad is the real deal. It’s very clear that owning a reptile store isn’t the only thing this man is capable of. He’s a damn wizard. His knowledge is off the charts, he’s straight forward, no bullshit, exactly the way you want someone to be when handling living beings. We brought our snake to him because she wasn’t wanting to eat for the first time, (not normal, she’s very food motivated) and looked as though she’d lost weight. The cause? We had dealt with snake mites and used olive oil to suffocate them (don’t do this) after the dawn soaks. It solved the problem, but it caused her to shed multiple layers without the skin coming off. Which in all the years of experience my boyfriend has with snakes, this has never happened. He didn’t even know it could happen since she was still eating up until we noticed what appeared to be weight loss. Conrad took one look at her and said she was stuck in shed. We left her with him overnight, but maybe 2 hours after we dropped her off he called and said he got all the shed off. When we picked her up the next day, she looked like a brand new gal. She’s eating again, active and breathing better. As we were leaving, a woman was bringing her bearded dragon in to be looked at. Conrad uses his knowledge to help others. But will always be forthcoming if it is something a vet needs to handle. I had actually called my vet to see if they could see her and the vet tech said to take her to Conrad first because it could be something simple. And compared to what our fears were, it was simple. Saved us hundreds of dollars. You know he’s the real deal when veterinary clinics are referring you. We can’t thank him enough for helping our girl. Whether you’re just starting out in this hobby, or are a seasoned keeper, Conrad is someone you can benefit from. Moral of the story, don’t use olive oil for mites.

I've been a customer since 2020, the owner and his staff are wonderful and truly care about animals and their human parents. 6 years ago my cornsnake Casper was refusing to eat and they guided me through it. Casper loves their live mice, and now loves their weening rats. I recommend this store to all reptiles owners.

Very knowledgeable and has lots of experience! Making sure the pets go home with the right owners, even gave me a discount on my first purchase there! I highly recommend if you are looking to get into Snakes, Geckos, Lizards, frogs, Turtles or Tortoises to go here he will get you setup properly and you can call him anytime during the hours of operation if you have concerns or questions!

My husband and I were really impressed by this well organized and spotlessly clean pet shop. They have an amazing selection of reptiles to choose from. We chose a sweet little Mardi Gras Ball Python named Rubix. He is very beautiful, happy and docile and was kept healthy and happy and treated with great care and love. Konrad , the owner, is very well educated and informed and knows all his animals well. He was a great help in giving us much needed advice on how to care for our new baby. Rubix was born in October of 2025 and was lovingly treated and cared for. We could tell that Konrad really loved him. He raised Rubix from a little hatchling. And he was sad to part with him but was happy to know that we would be good parents. The shop and the pets are more than well cared for. It was fun to walk around and view all the pets. Thank you Konrad for your advice and information. If you want a healthy and happy primeval pet, then go to Primeval Pets in Medford.

Always such a cool experience coming in here. My kiddos love looking at all the animals. We saw a really beautiful all white bearded dragon! We so wish we could have brought it home!

Primeval Pets is a fantastic little reptile shop tucked away on the east side of Medford—Medford's largest specialty spot for all things scaly and exotic! The staff is incredibly helpful, friendly, and super knowledgeable—they're always happy to answer questions and guide you, whether you're a newbie or seasoned keeper. Hands down, they have the best prices in the valley on reptiles, amphibians, supplies, feeders, and those eight-legged friends too. If you're in the market for any of that, this is THE place to go. And don't miss saying hello to Shadow, the adorable shop pup who greets every customer with tail wags and good vibes! 🐶🦎 Highly recommend stopping by—you won't be disappointed!

PRIMEVAL PETS IS THE PLACE TO GO!! There is no question about it! I’ve been a customer for almost 9 years and it’s always been a great experience! Feeder rodents & insects, reptiles and anything else a reptile or amphibian might need! It’s all there and at a great price! The owner is amazing and helpful, Konrad helped me set up my thermostat and took the time to teach me everything I needed to know before getting my ball python Medusa. He gave me an entire sheet of valuable information on care and maintenance for my sweet python. Konrad is experienced and all of his animals are unique, well taken care of and comfortable! I recommend his shop above everywhere else I’ve been over the years!
